Hand sourced in Italy, this charming secretary beautifully combines the elegance of a traditional commode with the practicality of a writing desk. The drop front opens over three drawers. Each drawer is fitted with ornate pulls and escutcheons, while an additional escutcheon adorns the front of the fold-out writing surface.

When opened, the top reveals three small drawers and three petite compartments, creating a wonderfully functional workspace with plenty of room for storing writing essentials. The fold-out surface sits at a comfortable height for use with a chair, making the piece as practical as it is beautiful. Adding to its decorative appeal, the front edge of the drop-down writing surface is ornately carved into an elegant, shaped profile rather than a simple straight edge.

CONDITION

This piece is in sound condition consistent with its age and use. There is a previous repair to the top left surface, as well as the front left face. Some spacing is visible between the wood on both side panels, consistent with the natural movement of wood due to changes in temperature and the age of the piece.

As with all antique and vintage items, please note the presence of nicks, scratches, cracks, denting, and similar wear commensurate with age and use, the item is as photographed.
