Antique Italian Desk with Shield Escutcheons

Hand sourced in Italy, this is truly one of my all time favorite finds!!

This antique desk has a wonderfully simple silhouette elevated by its brass shield-form escutcheons. The warm wood, long proportions, and restrained detailing give it enough presence to anchor an office without making the piece feel overly formal.

The desk is configured with a wide center drawer flanked by stacked drawers on either side, providing useful storage while leaving an open knee space below. Each drawer is finished with a shield-shaped escutcheon, creating a repeated decorative detail across the otherwise straightforward facade. Slender tapered legs complete the piece.

Use it as the centerpiece of a home office or library, or place it against a wall as a writing desk or substantial console. It would be especially good paired with an antique chair and a large piece of art above it, mixing easily with both painted and upholstered pieces elsewhere in the room.
