Hand-sourced in Belgium, this commode leans more decorative than most, with carved drawer fronts and a beautifully shaped apron that immediately sets it apart.

Three-drawer configuration with raised, shaped panels across each drawer and original brass hardware. The carving continues down into the apron with a more detailed, flowing pattern, and the feet carry a soft curve that finishes the piece. The bleached finish highlights the variation in the wood and keeps the detail from feeling heavy.

Works well in a bedroom, entry, or living space, especially layered with simpler pieces to let the detail stand out.

CONDITION

Good antique condition. Light wear consistent with age and use, with minor surface imperfections throughout. Evidence of old woodworm to one of the back legs, with no present activity observed. Rings to the top from prior heat exposure further adding to the piece’s character, consistent with age and use. As photographed.
